Cost of living in Singapore
Singapore is one of the largest financial centers in Asia. Therefore, it is no coincidence that the number of foreign students in the country increases every year. Over 7,000 international companies work here. Here are low taxes. And finally, the number of foreigners here is 38% of the total population. Singapore boasts a high quality of life. And the only negative is that it is one of the most expensive cities in the world.
However, there is no cause for concern. If the budget is allocated correctly, life in Singapore will be easy and enjoyable.

Housing
Most universities offer dormitory accommodation on campus. But there is a small snag - there are many foreign students, and there are few places in dormitories. In general, not everyone suffers and not always. But if you're lucky, then you will pay SGD155-800 for the hostel per month (depending on the level of the university).
Students often prefer to live off campus. In any case, you can find housing in the private sector or in hostels through agencies. There should be no problems with this, you just need to draw up the documents correctly.
For example, in order to settle in the dormitory of the Singapore University of Technology and Design, international students must obtain permission from the Immigration Department. After that, you will pay rent up to SGD265 per month. In addition, students are asked to make a deposit of up to one month's rent. After completing your studies or deciding to change your place of residence, you will receive a deposit back. In addition, each student receives a subsidy of SGD15 for utility bills. But everything that runs in addition, you have to pay for it yourself.
The hostels offer accommodation in quadruple rooms. You can also include in the bill meals, use of laundry, TV and the Internet. As a rule, all these additional services cost SGD140-440 per month.
Despite the fact that the cost of living in student hostels varies, anyway, this is the most budget option. In the private sector, SGD400-1,000 per month will have to be paid (depending on the area and whether utility bills are included in the bill or not).
Accounts
In addition to paying utility bills (which are usually included in the rental bill), you will have to pay other bills every month. But do not be alarmed, all this is not so expensive.

You can ride on a pre-purchased transport card, the balance of which is replenished. You will have to pay a little more for trips in air-conditioned cars. But as a student, you are entitled to a 50% discount on all rates.
