Singapore - Island of Opportunity
Singapore today is one of the fastest growing countries in Southeast Asia. Singapore is famous not only for its high standard of living and social security, but also for significant progress in the development of areas such as healthcare, medicine and education.
Unlike many small Asian states, in Singapore, the traditional eastern culture merges into a single whole with the typical features of the Western mentality, such as social tolerance, interest in each person’s personality, desire for education, development of science and business.
This is partly due to the colonial past of the state, which to this day is distinguished by its multinational composition and friendly welcome towards foreigners.
Singapore is famous for its variety of educational programs for international students. Moreover, the program can be selected depending on the existing training, including both school and full-fledged university education.
Education here usually takes place in English. Further, your education can be continued if desired, in almost any other country: for example, go to a bachelor's degree in Britain or Australia.
The higher education system in Singapore consists of five polytechnics, three universities, a national pedagogical institute and an institute of technical education, the main purpose of which is to train specialists in postgraduate education programs.
There are currently three universities in Singapore:
National University of Singapore (NUS),
Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
Singapore University of Management (SUU).
National University of Singapore, formed in 1980 as a result of the merger of the University of Singapore and Nanyang, has already gained a brilliant reputation in the world. According to the latest rating of The Times newspaper, he was in the top twenty of the two hundred best universities in the world.
Singapore uses the English 12-year education system, so an applicant from Russia needs an additional year of academic preparation: this is either a year at a domestic university, or preparatory courses in an English-speaking country or Singapore at colleges (Junior College).
Requirements for applicants for a master's degree are no different from other English-speaking countries. This is a diploma of higher education, TOEFL or IELTS, resumes, reviews, motivation letter, GMAT (for MBA).
